Dr. Lynn Trapp serves as Principal Artistic Director of the Marianne Webb and David N. Bateman Distinguished Organ Recital Series at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. The endowment that established the DORS was given in 1990 by Marianne Webb and David N. Bateman, both faculty members at SIUC, she in the School of Music and he in the College of Business and Administration.

The purpose of the endowment, established in perpetuity, is to present outstanding, well-established concert organists in recital for the people of Southern Illinois.

Each fall an artist performs in Shryock Auditorium on the SIUC campus, playing the Marianne Webb Pipe Organ (Reuter Organ, Opus 1741).  A pre-recital buffet dinner is held, where Dr. Trapp offers an informal presentation about the artist and concert program.
